Review – I Surrender by Monica James

Ladies, let me introduce you to Jasper White.

Now that we are almost done swooning, let me tell you about this fantastic series that I stumbled upon.

One late or early night/morning depending on how you view the time (2am-ish) ( have I mentioned I have insomnia?) I stumbled up Ms. Monica on a Twitter feed. I stalked her immediately. I quickly got my greedy little hands on ‘I Surrender’. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.

Now, let’s meet Ava.

Gorgeous, right? Right.

We see Ava struggle with a recent break up (she gave up her dream to move to a foreign country with a guy. pfft.) When she arrives back in her homeland she is immediately scooped up by her best friend (we all have those friends we can turn to no matter what) and gets some TLC that she needs. And, naturally when she was least expecting it she met Jasper White. Yes, he is a rocker heart throb of his band ‘Passengers Of Ego’ (There is even a cd to go with the book!)

I was constantly yelling at Ava to get a back-bone but she was so broken she just couldn’t get to that step, even with Jasper picking up her pieces along the way. She just wouldn’t “Surrender” completely, no matter how much you routing for her too.

Ava keeps wishing to be “Free as a bird” and I want her to get her wings and fly. Let’s watch her together.

I give this – variety of emotion inducing read –  5 flaming stars!
